Milestones

Our Journey Over the Years

We’ve grown from a one-room practice into one of Melbourne’s most trusted independent hearing clinics. City Hearing gets involved in Volunteer Mission for the Deaf Community overseas and in supporting cultural community events in the City of Melbourne.  Here’s a look at what’s shaped our story.

Peter begins volunteering with a School for the Deaf run by Little Sisters for the Deaf in Cebu, Philippines. Over the years, he donates hearing aids, trains teachers and audiologists, and helps improve services for children with hearing loss in Cebu Province in the Philippines.

What Our Clients Say

“Being able to hear well has transformed my life.
I was referred to Peter, who fitted me with hearing aids that matched my lifestyle. Adjusting to my digital hearing devices was easier than expected, and the follow-up care has been excellent.

Gone are the background noises. Now, I can follow dinner table conversations and watch TV without my wife hearing it from the garden!

I’m still working, and hearing well has made a huge difference both professionally and personally. One of my executives speaks fast and softly—now I don’t have to ask him to repeat himself.

If you have a hearing issue like I did, do yourself a favour. Go to City Hearing and have a chat with Peter.”

Mr. C. Smith
Ex-Chairman, Deutsche Bank Australia & New Zealand, aged 80, Toorak VIC

“After my hearing test, Peter told me I was ‘guessing’ 30% of conversations. I knew it, but didn’t want to admit it.

Two weeks later, my new hearing aids were fitted—and for the first time in years, I heard birds clearly.

I’m the chairman of a group of four companies, and without overstating it, hearing better changed my life—and my presence in the boardroom.

I’d recommend City Hearing to anyone. In fact, I recommend you make an appointment today.”

Company Chairman, Melbourne VIC

“I knew my hearing was fading, but I ignored the signs. In my job as a translator, hearing clearly is vital.

I went to City Hearing on Collins Street and had a very understanding conversation with Peter. After being fitted with the right hearing aids, I was amazed to hear birds singing—I hadn’t heard that in over 30 years.

Hearing well has changed everything. I’m very happy with the results, and so is my wife.

If you’re unsure about your hearing, get it checked today. I highly recommend City Hearing for their excellent service.”

“Eight years ago, I lost my hearing suddenly. An ENT specialist told me to ‘wait and see’, but my hearing got worse.

I went to see Peter at City Hearing. After testing me, he said it could be acoustic neuroma—a type of brain tumour. He contacted my GP immediately and recommended an MRI. It came back positive.

Because it was caught early, I had surgery and my hearing was saved.

I owe Peter my life.

I recently brought my elderly mother in for a hearing check. Peter was kind, compassionate and spoke to her in plain English. He never pressured us or pushed products. He truly listens.”
